Hi, my names Tia, it's lovely to meet you and welcome to my page. I believe that to appreciate any piece of art you must know where, and who it came from. So I hope you can get to know me better.

Currently I'm 24 y/o, graphite wildlife artist, living in the western cape of South Africa.

I have never taken an art class in my life. I taught myself instead to draw by using the skills I learnt from studying Chemistry, that of problem solving and stubbornness.

I adore nature and the remarkable natural systems that keep the animal kingdom going; anything that walks, flies or moves I have a deep fascination for understanding how they work, and through that love it's moved me to capture even the unlikeliest of animals.

• From a big family

• I love the monochromatic graphite and charcoal medium above other mediums, because for me colour is distracting, but I want to emphasise form, texture and the finer details

• I love colour, but by excluding colour from my work I can capture form, texture and the finer details far easier
